The Japantown Community Benefit District Corporation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association overseen by staff and Board of Directors. Per the Japantown CBD Management Plan, represent a cross section of property owners found throughout the district. The goal and spirit of the boardโ€™s composition is to have a majority of property owners, but also include representatives from businesses, and governments that pay JCBD assessments. The Cityโ€™s requirement is to have at least 60% of the members be property owners that pay the JCBD assessment and 20% of the membership be business owners within the District boundary.

The JCBD Board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every other month, from 5:00pm. are usually held at the US Bank Community Room (located on 1st floor of the Japan Center East Mall - 22 Peace Plaza, SF). JCBD meetings are open to the public.
