The updated Order No. C19-07e replaces the prior May 17, 2020 extension of the shelter in place order. All people and businesses in San Francisco must strictly comply with this new Order which is in effect, without a specific expiration date, until it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Health Officer.

The Order updates Appendix A to include new requirements in the Social Distancing Protocol. Any businesses with an existing Social Distancing Protocol must update its Social Distancing Protocol within two weeks, by June 15, 2020.

The June 1, 2020 update to the Order adds curbside/outdoor low contact retail services (such as pet grooming and shoe repair); businesses that rent equipment for outdoor activities; and professional sports team practices (with an approved plan) to the list of Additional Business that may resume operations. Businesses are required to complete and post the updated Appendix A Social Distancing Protocols. Appendix C-1 contains requirements to operate for:

  • Retail Stores for Goods with Outdoor Curbside Pickup and Supply Chain Businesses

  • Outdoor Curbside Pickup and Drop Off for Low Contact Retail Services

  • Childcare Programs and Summer Camps for All Children

NOTE: All businesses implementing a Social Distancing Protocol for the first time on or after June 1, 2020 must prepare and implement the updated protocol before resuming operations.

JCBD Staff will drop off copies of the updated Appendix A Social Distancing Protocols to businesses tomorrow.

Early this morning (approx. 2:15am) a small fire broke out at the lower level of 1700 Post Street. A few people passing by noticed the smoke and called it into 911. SFFD Station No. 5 immediately arrived and extinguished the fire.

Thank you to the two individuals that made the call, Japantown merchant - Soko Hardware for notifying the JCBD, and to the SFFD for their quick response. A community effort prevented this incident from escalating further!

Thank you to the Office of Economic Workforce Development for the PPE supplies that keep our Community Ambassadors safe!
