Hello everyone,

Yesterday JCBD staff dropped off to essential businesses the “Everyone Must Wear Face Covering” poster. We ask that you post it at the entry way of your business. Huge appreciation to Robbie at the UPS Store for getting these printed out quickly.

Mayor London N. Breed and Treasurer José Cisneros today announced new measures to support San Francisco businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. These efforts include deferring collection of the Business Registration Fee for four months and further deferring collection of Unified License Fees.

If you have not done so, please check in with your insurance provider. Your business may be qualified to receive an initial premium refund for the months of March and April due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This order was posted by California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara on April 13th.

Many of the Japantown businesses have given back to those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nari donated meals to the healthcare workers at CPMC/Sutter at the very beginning, Daeho Kalbijjim & Beef Soup and Hinodeya Ramen donated meals to SFPD Northern Station and more recently Marufuku Ramen donated 50 ramen meals to CPMC/Sutter Health.

These are the stories we want to make sure our Japantown community and the rest of the City hears about. It’s the spirit of giving that we are so grateful to see even during these difficult times.

If your business would like to donate to healthcare workers and those on the fronts lines, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can connect you.
