Keep Your Customers Engaged

The Coronavirus has changed the landscape of everyday life for all of us. We find ourselves constantly checking websites and social media to get the latest information. It’s a good time for businesses to strengthen their online presence.

Email Your Customers
If you have a mailing list, send your customers a simple email. Let them know if you have decided to close til the shelter-in-place order is lifted or if you are open and encourage them to support Japantown businesses.

Social Media (Instagram / Facebook)
Social media is a good place to let your customers know if you are still conducting business during the shelter in place. You can chat with your customers, post videos, etc. Use your social media presence to:

  • Show hours of business

  • Phone number to cal ln orders

  • Delivery service you are using (Door Dash, Caviar, etc.)

  • Restaurants: Menu / Specialties

  • Grocery Stores: Featured Products/What’s on Sale

  • Photos of your popular menu/product items

  • You can even show how you package the ‘to go’ food

  • Photos of staff

  • Promote gift cards/discounts

Don’t forget to update and feed your social media pages content. It can be as simple as posting a photo of your menu item/product. See how other businesses are promoting themselves and use that as a starting point.
 

Get Your Business Listed
The JCBD has sent Japantown’s list of open restaurants to the San Francisco Chronicle’s directory of where you can still get a hot meal during shelter in place.

We’ve also sent EaterSF and Hoodline our list to be included in their running list of San Francisco restaurants.

 

Resources for Employers and Employees During COVID-19

JCBD Staff is compiling an extensive list of resources that includes agency, program, website and a brief description. As soon as it is completed, we will share with you all here and on our website at www.jtowncbd.org.

It will also be available in Japanese and Korean.

SF Assessing Local Business Needs
